Busy Busy

We've been working up quite the sweat here at TiMae Creations!  I can't count how many different techniques I've experimented with over the last month, trying to perfect stuff for our Etsy shop.  Shiva Paintstiks, sunprinting, splatter painting, rubbings, bound resists, and more.

Tim and I want your opinion on what pre-made t-shirts to use as a base.  Here's one I painted as a trial:

Modeled by the ever-so-handsome Tim.

This is the back, obviously.

The stars were hastily stenciled to cover up some silver paint I spilled, but I kind of like them.  What do you think?  Stars or no stars?  How about the v-neck?  Would you wear this?  Please leave your opinion in the comments.

Coming up:  A sunprinted resist for a furoshiki cloth.

Ranger Color Wash

This past week I've been experimenting with Color Wash spray dyes from Ranger.  I've gotten mixed results, with the most common problem being the colors getting muddy as they blend.  Some things have turned out nice, though.  Like this rainbow scarf:

Colors are not accurate, but you get the idea.

And this broadcloth:

I got the splatter effect on the cloth by very lightly spraying on the color wash and splashing water randomly all over the place.  Messy but fun, my favorite things!

Now I'm working on a hat for my brother-in-law.  If it turns out nicely, we intend to offer similar hats on our Etsy shop, TiMae Creations (open soon).  I'll be sure to post pics once it's done.

P.S.  Does that tarp look like a pond to you?  When I went out to check on the drying cloth, I found a very confused frog.

"What do you mean, it's not water?  It's blue-green, ain't it?"
